The Association’s objectives and priorities are as follows:-

• To protect and preserve the spirit of the ancient Ridgeway path, by opposing any intrusive and inappropriate developments in its vicinity, and by monitoring the management of the Trail by the public agencies concerned;
• To share and communicate with the public our members’ appreciation of the Ridgeway, and of our common heritage of the path itself and the other monuments, environment and landscape along its length;
• To advocate and support the improvement by the NTO and other interested parties of the access, facilities and services available to users of the Ridgeway;
• To promote increased use of the Ridgeway, by foot, horseback and bicycle, by new users, especially young people, respecting others’ quiet enjoyment,; and
• To advise and inform the public at large about the ancient and modern history, the natural history, the ecology and the scenery of the Ridgeway and its environs.
